Choreography & Musicality
In this class, students will explore musicality and performance quality through the learning and development of a choreography. They will investigate how different textures, dynamics and movement qualities can be used to interpret music and create more engaging and expressive performances.
Students will work on recognising musical details, responding to changes in rhythm, energy and intensity, and making intentional choices in their movement execution. The class will encourage students to move beyond simply learning choreography, focusing on how to communicate musical ideas through the body, develop their artistic expression and bring greater clarity, contrast and individuality to their performance.
